AI coding client integration

Starsg is fully OpenAI-compatible. Mainstream AI coding clients (Cursor, Continue, Cline, Aider) all integrate with one configuration.

ImportantBefore you start, prepare an API Key created in the console. If you don't have one yet, follow the link to create it.

Cursor

  1. Open Cursor → Settings → Models → Add Custom Model
  2. Set Base URL to https://api.starsg.ai/v1
  3. Set API Key to the sk-abc...xyz from your console.
  4. Pick any Model Name, e.g. gpt-4o
json
{
  "openai_base_url": "https://api.starsg.ai/v1",
  "openai_api_key": "sk-abc...xyz",
  "models": [
    "gpt-4o",
    "claude-opus-4-7"
  ]
}

Continue.dev (VSCode / JetBrains)

Edit ~/.continue/config.json:

json
{
  "models": [{
    "title": "GPT-4o (Starsg)",
    "provider": "openai",
    "model": "gpt-4o",
    "apiBase": "https://api.starsg.ai/v1",
    "apiKey": "sk-abc...xyz"
  }]
}

Cline

In the Cline settings panel choose OpenAI Compatible, then fill in the base URL and API key.

Aider (terminal)

bash
export OPENAI_API_BASE="https://api.starsg.ai/v1"
export OPENAI_API_KEY="sk-abc...xyz"

aider --model gpt-4o

Recommended setup

  • Primary model: Claude 4.5 Sonnet — best at coding and refactoring
  • Fast completion: DeepSeek V3 — under 1/10 the price of the primary model
  • Vision / screenshot: GPT-5o

Create a separate API key for each client in the console — usage analytics slices by key, model, and time window for clean cost attribution. Calls must use HTTPS, and the full key is shown only once at creation.
